Itchy and Scratchy but still warm, quick-drying and overall good cut

Same experience like some people said before. Contrary to the marketing, the hoodie caused a lot of itching on my skin the first time I put it on, even though I don't have sensitive skin.
I've tried all the tips to get the hoodie soft and no longer scratchy (vinegar, freezer, washing with wool detergent) but nothing worked well.
It's still uncomfortable because of the unpleasant skin sensation.
I suspect that inferior alpaca fine blend (26.5 - 27.5 microns) or alpaca fleece wool (25.0 - 26.5 microns) was used here instead of the better quality baby royal wool (19.5-21.5 microns) or a blend of these qualities, which nevertheless promotes the scratching. I think that by omitting the important information about the fineness of the wool, the buyer is misled into buying it. a specification of the fineness would be decisive for the purchase decision.
sadly return time for exchange is over.
The general cut is good - not too tight and not too wide for a normal body shape.
From my own experience, I can confirm that a helmet does not really fit under the hood. After all, the warming layer should be close to the body and not serve primarily as wind protection.
That's why i usually wore the hood under a helmet or a cap.
Thumbholes and a higher collar, as with competing products, would make the product even more popular. But that's just my opinon as a user.
If I knew that I could get a quality replacement for this product, I would still give the new hoodie a chance.
And that's because it keeps you very warm despite its thinness, dries quickly and has all the other advantages of alpaca wool.

Hello Silvio! Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed feedback. We're really sorry to hear that the hoodie didn’t meet your expectations, especially regarding the fabric feel. We appreciate your observations about the wool quality and your suggestion for more transparency about fiber specifications. Your input helps us improve, and we’ll definitely share your thoughts with our team.

It’s great to hear that you found the cut to be comfortable and enjoyed some of the benefits like warmth, quick drying, and thinness. We also appreciate your recommendations about the hood, thumbholes, and collar, ideas like these can inspire future product updates! We appreciate your understanding regarding the return policy, and we’re glad to hear that you still see the benefits of alpaca wool. If we can assist you further or if you have any other thoughts, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you again for your feedback!

I put it on and felt it was scratchy and tight so I immediately returned it. I think Alpaca is awesome and superior to merino. I know this company is amazing and far superior to others.

Love the fit, which is fitted. I am 5'9 and 170 lbs. I ordered a large. Very comfortable and soft hoody. Looks great in black and the hood is right sized. Doubt you could fit a helmet under the hood but perfect for your melon. Would def buy again.

When wearing 100% Alpaca Wool, you can rest assured that your clothes are not contaminating nature.

  • 100% Alpaca Wool Fabric
  • 100% Cotton Threads
  • 100% Cotton Threads
  • 100% Natural Dyes or OEKO-TEX Certified Dyes
  • OEKO-TEX Certified Silicone Fabric Finishing
  • GOTS Certified Ink (for the labels)

We are on a journey to create 100% plastic-free and biodegradable base layers so that you can wear your clothes knowing that you are not releasing any microplastics.

Microplastics are not only found in the environment but also in our bloodstream.

Our naturally dyed base layers contain zero synthetic dyes and we are looking for a natural replacement for the silicone fabric finishing and zippers that have plastic on the back of the tape.

Our wool is never Superwashed since alpaca fibers are naturally smooth.

Alpacas roam freely in their natural habitat in the highlands of Peru. Their farmers never harm or kill them for their wool. Alpacas create small footprints that do not damage the fields they graze on. When they eat, they cut the grass, promoting regrowth.

SINGLE ORIGIN SUPPLY CHAIN

Where Was This Hoodie Made?

We use natural local resources and a short transparent supply chain. Our mission is to teach you as much as possible about how clothes should be made. Together we can move the fashion industry towards a sustainable future.

Contrary to industry norms, every step involved in making our clothes is done in only one country: Peru, the home of our family. Our production in Peru includes fiber sourcing, yarn spinning, fabric knitting, dyeing, finishing, and garment sewing.

From Peru, our clothes go straight to California or Europe on its journey to you.

Manufacturing in one country allows us to greatly reduce our carbon footprint and freight shipping. This is a major step on our journey to becoming a carbon negative company.

We avoid industrial farming by working with co-op farmers in the Andes. Doing everything in Peru guarantees we know how the alpacas and the workers involved are being treated.
